Legislative Update from Eddie Miller: The interim study regarding Provider Rates will be held by Representative Ron Peters on September 22 in Oklahoma City. Currently we are aware of 3 states (Kentucky, Maine, and Michigan) which have incorporated Quality Assurance Fees to increase employee compensation, provider reimbursement rates, and protect/increase the quality of their Home and Community based services.
We were also informed OHCA and DHS are actively researching our findings and are in communication with various officials of each state mentioned. Given the current state of the economy, this will more than likely be the only option to increase employee compensation, provider reimbursement, and enhance quality.
