Terry Wendling loves people and has an adventurous spirit. During his long sales and management career with a fishing equipment company, he had the opportunity to employ some people with disabilities in their manufacturing process. He enjoyed that experience, and he transferred his love of people to a new career with Bios.
Terry started as a job coach and quickly advanced through the ranks to become an area director for the Bios Muskogee office. A few years into his AD experience, Terry decided to feed his sense of adventure by leading the charge to open a Bios operation in Middle Tennessee where Bios has supported people since 2007.
Terry has collected many honors and accolades in his career. One highlight was in 2001 when he received an OKAPSE Governors Award in Oklahoma for his work in the field of disabilities.
The professional veteran makes friends with people everywhere he goes. To this day, Terry keeps up weekly calls with his friend, Pete, who he served more than 15 years ago.
Terry believes in all people. During his time as executive director, Terry has made it his passion to deliver support to all, especially those who have been labeled as severely behaviorally challenged.
Terry is a husband to Kristi, the proud dad of three adult children and loving grandfather to three littles. He’s particularly proud of his son, Andrew who just finished serving in the military and leaves service with many honors and accolades.
Terry enjoys watching sports, spending time with his family and beach combing on the Florida coast.
